Summary

In the plenary sitting held on Thursday, 29 May 2025, Parliament the House approved a government proposal to borrow up to €270 million from the African Export-Import Bank and €230 million from Ecobank Uganda Limited and the Development Bank of Southern Africa, to finance the 2024/2025 national budget, amid strong reservations from several MPs. The House also gave Kampala Capital City Authority the greenlight from lawmakers to lease Plot 406, Namirembe Road to Buganda Kingdom among other beneficiaries.
