In the plenary sitting held on Thursday, 29 May 2025, Parliament the House approved a government proposal to borrow up to €270 million from the African Export-Import Bank and €230 million from Ecobank Uganda Limited and the Development Bank of Southern Africa, to finance the 2024/2025 national budget, amid strong reservations from several MPs.
