Summary

In the plenary sittings held on Tuesday 23, Wednesday 24 and Thursday 25 May 2023, the Committee on Presidential Affairs recommended the prosecution of the Minister for Karamoja Affairs, Hon. Mary Goretti Kitutu, her deputy, Hon. Agnes Nandutu and the State Minister for Finance, Hon. Amos Lugoloobi, for the mismanagement of relief items meant for vulnerable persons in Karamoja. The Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa blamed the current ‘expired’ courses crisis on misuse of strong words and directed the National Council for Higher Education to declassify ‘expired’ courses as “under review”.
