Summary

In the plenary sittings held on Tuesday 18, Wednesday 19 and Thursday 20 July 2023; the Speaker of Parliament, Anita Among, returned the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Control Bill, 2023 to the Committee on Defence and Internal Affairs for joint processing with the Committee on Health Members of Parliament called upon government to improve the appalling state of juvenile rehabilitation and remand centres across the country. The Committee of Finance was directed to study and reconcile financial statements of the Consolidated Fund account for 30th and 31st June 2023, and give a report to Parliament.
