In the plenary sittings held on Monday 14, Tuesday 15, Wednesday 16 and Thursday 17 October 2024, the Public Accounts Committee (Central Government) raised concerns over Uganda’s financial management, in a report delivered by committee chairperson, Hon. Muhammad Muwanga Kivumbi, for the financial year ended 30 June 2023. Members of Parliament demanded an investigation into the burning of Uganda House during the GenZ led anti-tax demonstrations in Nairobi, Kenya. The Sexual Offences Bill, 2024 that seeks to enhance punishment of sex offenders and protection of victims during trial was re-introduced for first reading by Soroti District Woman Member of Parliament, Hon.
