Members of Parliament on the National taskforce against COVID-19 have justified the need for Parliament to continue sitting, despite calls for a total lockdown. The legislators say that Parliament has to achieve certain obligations for the country to run like appropriating money to run the Government budget. The Director of the Budget office at Parliament, Mr. Sulaiman Kiggundu, explained that the budget processes as contained in the Rules of procedure have been shortened, to beat the April 1st deadline.
